What is Church Street Ministries?
Church Street Ministries is an ecumenical outreach mission founded by the First Congregational United Church of Christ. With the help of volunteers, this non-profit outreach mission strives to make the community a better place by providing assistance to those in need.
To serve the needs of the homeless, transients, unemployed,
refugees, at-risk, and chemically dependent persons and all other in need of emergency assistance, yet maintain their dignity, confirm their value, and promote their independence.
Church Street Ministries offers a variety of services:
Operates a food pantry open any day by appointment. Membership in the Cleveland Food Bank guarantees high standards.
Provides financial assistance to families. Aid goes to those who are unemployed and who face utilities shut off, medical bills, or eviction.
Provides meeting space for Native Americans .
Cooperates with the courts in providing opportunities for individuals assigned to community service.
Educates people in the community concerning those in need. Trained volunteers in the thrift shops and young people involved in service-learning activities are committed to assisting others.
