COVID Response: Second Mile Shop Open on Thursdays and Saturdays:
CSM had a successful opening day on June 6 at our Second Mile Thrift Shop, with great sale prices for our customers and many, many donations - thank you. We appreciate your patience as we adapt to new procedures and enable social distancing. The Second Mile Thrift Shop will continue to be open Thursday and Saturday, 9 AM-5 PM.
Note: New safety protocols have been implemented for protection of employees and customers including extra sanitizing, social distance shopping, limits on number of people, plastic shield at checkout counter, and employee masks. As of July 8 Ohio Guidelines, customers are now required to wear masks. Donations are accepted during store hours only, outside the store with minimal contact. See photos of new checkout counter and items for sale below.
If you're lucky, you might even meet Romeo the pet pig at the checkout counter!

What is the Second Mile Thrift Shop?
Created in 1986 by First Congregational Church UCC of Berea, and since 2015 became a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization, the CSM Second Mile Shop sells donated furniture, appliances, household items, sporting goods, and clothing at reasonable prices.
The store also serves as a warehouse for goods-in-waiting to be delivered at no charge to people in need, including veterans in transition. For a small fee, an entire room full of furniture can be supplied.
Volunteers from many churches and civic organizations from Berea and the surrounding communities assist in operating the store. Community service appointees from the courts help to fully staff the shop. The shop also redistributes appliances, furniture, and bags of clothing to families in need, centers, and shelters throughout Cuyahoga County.
When downsizing to a smaller home, decluttering, or upon the death of a loved one, people are often grateful that their donations help those in less fortunate circumstances.
The Second Mile Shop protects the environment by recycling usable goods. Cash and other donations are accepted during store hours.
Remember your purchases help others in need!
